Haha, I totally thought Edward had some serious ulterior motives in Eclipse when he told Bella she could have it her way. Reverse psychology at its best! And hello, the man had the ring with him in his pocket....sneaky, conniving vampire! But I couldn't help but stop breathing and completely melt when he said, 'I love you. I want you. Right now." Ohhhh, I melt just typing it....
*is dazzled* I'm sorry, what we were talking about again? _________________

OME. THAT SCENE... I absolutely melted. If Edward said that to me... Ayayay. _________________
From what I'm gathering rereading Eclipse, Edward is just as excited as Bella is. But he is definitely afraid for her, afraiding of hurting her (well, more than the normal, I should say).
I think they will try, and I see it as being something very subtly written, just like Ms. Meyer did with the other two bedroom scenes in the book.
Do any of you think that Edward will have a hard time controlling his thirst for Bella, him being that close with her, or do you think that hurdle has been past?
You're absolutely right, Edward wants Bella just as much as she wants him. He's just more cautious about it because he thinks about the risks and Bella, in this case, doesn't.
It'll definitey be subtly written though. Stephenie Meyer is the queen of writing subtle scenes that make our blood boil. Those bedroom scenes in Eclipse, anyone? Sure they were fairly innocent, but they were incredibly intense.
Hmm..good question about whether or not Edward would be able to control his thrist. I'm sure it's one of the things he's thinking about, besides actually physically hurting her. But I do think he's gotten over that to a degree...didn't he mention somewhere that it didn't bother him as much anymore? Was it at the end of New Moon maybe? I don't know, but he said something along the lines of, after thinking that Bella was dead, it put everything into perspective for him, so much so that the whole wanting-her-blood issue wasn't as intense anymore?
And I'm glad you like my theory, Molly and Essa!
Wow I feel late coming into this thread.
Well, SM has a lot to work with in BD when it comes to the possible sex scene. She has an extreme amount of sexual tension, first time experience, and then the added supernatural elements of Edward damaging Bella's vagina while they're in the act, AND the aspect of him being thirsty for her and completely losing control of that side of his nature to play with during this possible scene. (Maybe scenes?! Wouldn't that be something.) No wonder everyone's excited/curious.
I think that Edward's isn't exactly immune to Bella's blood, but it does bother him less. I'm right there with Aimeeallyce, I also will be so bummed out if they don't have sex in the next book.
It has to take place after they are married though, because that is the deal, right?

Honestly I don't think he would damage her. He'd be gentle and loving. That's my opinion though.
I agree with you on this one. Edward would never EVER hurt Bella. In any way possible.
Mm yes, I agree, there will be no hurting of Bella's vagina in anyway! (Besides, how would Stephenie Meyer write that if it did happen.. AWWWKKWAAARRDD hahahahah!) _________________

Hahaha
I still stand by that if they had sex while she was still human, Edward would get too into it and crush her vagina. Accidentally, of course. _________________

But then Edward said that the deal was off (reverse pshyco whatsit) and said that they could do it (in the meadow), but Bella was like no, lets wait raddirara...but that still means the deal is off, right? I mean, if I was Bella, I'd twist that round and say 'It's Time!" before the wedding. If I really wanted it, that is.
I do hope it happens though. It really annoys me, writers who start something then don't finish it off _________________

Molly, you rock! I'd been thinking that for awhile, I'm glad you said it!
I know I'll be upset if Bella doesn't end up being turned. And I do hope that they try just for the sake that they hyped it up so much...and let's face it, I'm sure everyone's had that first-time god-awful experience and I'm sure these two would be no exception to that. But it'd be interesting to read for sure. _________________

My dream (literally I daydream this) is that they will have sex after they are married but before Bella is turned (&&& she will be turned ) in this ridiculously and meticulously planned out evening Edward has pre-arranged. In my mind the sex is rated-R worthy maybe NC-17 but of course when its written it will read PG-13 leaving the best parts up to our imaginations but still fitting the young adult genre.
Then they have lots of unrealistically romantic sex up until Edward is like, "Ok, I'm done being fragile/gentle with you" Haha and gives in on making her a vampire just so he can lose ALL CONTROL
Of course, I haven't really given any of this too much thought. _________________ I <3 Rosamett!

Edward in bed. I quiver at the very thought. I'd bet he'd be good.. soooooo good. Mmmm....
ANYWAYS - back to Bella, heh.
I do believe that they'll wait until after the wedding (yawn.) but that since she wanted it to be her last human experience he'll fulfill that request and they'll get 'er done before she becomes a Vamp
I cannot wait. Honestly, I think it will be good. Just think of all the parts in Twilight and Eclipse that make your heart beat a little faster and your cheeks blush and they're both YA. So, I have faith that SM will do a good job with them and with our imaginations. _________________
