Like, dislike, impartial?

I was kinda creeped out right up until the birth, but I am in love with that baby.

I think her power is awesome. I still think about what that would be like to have her touch my forehead and project those memories. Extremely cool.

And I think a spin-off book about Nessie and Jacob would be pretty interesting.

**And I do have to say that after I finished this book, I babysat my 9 month old niece, and had a nice creepy dream about her talking in complete sentences and singing along to songs she'd never heard. **

For some reason I had it in my head that she was BAD. Because she was killing Bella the whole time Bella was pregnant with her, and that just didn't seem cool to me. I was kind of confused with Edward hearing her thoughts and realizing she loved Bella. I just thought, that for some reason, she was an immortal child. Even though, Carlisle already explained what that was and that didn't match how Nessie came into being at all.
I don't dislike Nessie now that I've read it again. But I'm still not 100% sold on her. I feel kind of annoyed with her because I feel like she interupted our Bella/Edward loving time they should have had. Even though I guess they did have it...I don't know. *shrug*.
Time will tell with me for Nessie.

I was pretty angry during the pregnancy. First of all the whole jacob pov confused me. I was thinking, "what? is edward next?" After the delivery (if you can call it that) and jacob imprinted, i wanted to die. Now that i have finished it and thought about it, i like nessie ( i can't spell or pronouce her name and i have to say that's the only thing i don't like) a lot. I would prefer her name to be carlie and a mix of renee and esme for a middle name. I can't wait to find out how her and jacobs lives end up together.

i'm actually okay with the name renesmee by now...it's taken some time, but you get used to it.
i don't like the name nessie at all though...there was this extermely annoying girl in my kindergarten whose name was nessie. i couldn't stand her. lol

i agree with most of what was said here. she was scary before she was born, but after that...just aww :) she's so cute.
some people said to me that they find it a bit scary that she grows so fast and can already read and talk and stuff.....but i don't really mind.
oh Cedric....you're hotter when you're Edward Cullen!

Rob, you can stand under my umbrella - also when it's not even f*cking raining

At first, I thought she was evil too, and that she will become an evil vampire baby with an uncontrollable urge for human blood. But then came the surprise again (just like her incarnation) that she was as innocent as an angel and connected everyone to each, also making the alliance/connection between the werewolves and vampires stronger. :)

The only thing that bothers me though is that I feel that she is too perfect, like a Mary Sue. Enlighten me, ladies, if you please. :)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but a Mary Sue is a no-flaws type of character, right? Something like that? Anyway, YES! It really bothers me how everyone loves her. I mean, I understand that they're vampires and never really get the chance to interact with kids, but come on...She can't be that great.

I know! And yes, my memory tells me that a Mary Sue is a perfect character. :)

I really like Renesmee. I hate the name Nessie though. I know - kind of backwards - but I think it just bothers me that clearly Stephenie had the name planned out, but then didn't really use it much - I think it would've been easier to get used to if they didn't nickname her so quickly.

I think she sounds adorable :) (as to be expected, I suppose).

I really do love her part in the story - yea she's a little Mary Sue, but I don't mind since we didn't get that much of her (in comparison to the rest of the characters in the whole series). I didn't mind the time spent on her, and I think it'll be more interesting after I go back and reread.

You know, I didn't even mind when she was killing Bella - yea, it was stressful, and I do love Bella, but I knew Stephenie wouldn't let anything happen to Bella so I didn't take it too seriously. I think that she brings Edward and Bella closer AND helps Rosalie. I think it must be easier for Rosalie to accept Bella into the family knowing that the one thing she didn't want, Bella did get to have, so she didn't have to give up as much after all. And I thought it was pretty realistic (considering the series is about vampires and all). Yea, the birth was gory, but that's what childbirth seems like to me and it makes sense that a half-vampire baby would accidentally hurt you (like Edward doesn't mean to bruise Bella and such).

I cracked up about Jacob imprinting. I wasn't really bothered by it since we had that scene with Quil and Claire since it sort of made it clear how that would work when one was so young. And it quite an interesting choice about how to fix up Jacob - it actually made me feel a lot better about the whole Jacob/Bella thing.

And I would love a book from anyone's perspective as long as it continued the story, or if it were really different. Like, I don't know how many stories I'd want to hear over and over from different people unless there were drastic differences - like with Midnight Sun - Edward and Bella aren't together as much as they are in Eclipse or BD (and NM would just be too depressing to read again from anyone's pov) so we would still learn new things.

Contrary to everything, I actually liked Renesmee better the first time she nudged in Bella's womb than when she was born. That was where I really felt the connection, most especially when Bella was talking to her while still in the womb, telling everything was going to be okay.

Yea... I agree.. there are some good in utero moments - when Edward first hears Renesmee's thoughts and knows she loves them is great. The birth process is so... detailed.. what with all the breaking bones and blood and such, not too much bonding time haha

In my eyes, I didn't really mind Renesmee at all. After I re-read it, it seemed like she helped to bring the story a little closer together. And though I wasn't very sold on her the first time reading BD, I think that if Stephenie where to write another book after, Renesmee would help to complete and make the next book more interesting ( With how much she's grown/growing and Jacob's pack and Sam's pack being so close to the Cullens now, and how Bella and Edward's relationship strengthens through having a child of their own, and etc, etc! )

Honestly?
I find the whole thing hilarious.
But she creeps me out. Not that "omg she was killing bella" but because she's just plain creepy. No baby should ever be THAT intelligent. And I was kinda fuzzy at the end, during the Voluri talk-out. What was her physical age? Because I thought she was still a toddler, but some people said she was like 10 years-old.
Regardless, Jacob impirinting on her, I so called it before I even knew spoilers! It just figures that he'd imprint on someone that was apart of or related to Bella. Lol.
Her power is pretty cool, compared to other powers.
