Ian VS. Jared

Despite its genre, The Host is a very human story. There aren’t any gadgets, ray guns, time warps, black holes, spaceships or any of the other sci-fi standards. It all takes place on the planet earth in the present day and is, at its core, a love story.

Ian VS. Jared

***SPOILER ALERT****

you've been warned....

Okay so love The Host but where i get caught up is with my thoughts about Ian and Jared. So I'm happy that Ian and Wanda got together in the end and Jared and Mel ended up together too but I'm torn between hating Jared and loving him, and wondering if Wanda just fell for it to easy. I mean in the end of the book she isnt even mean to him, I know I would be more than a little pissed (pardon my french) at him after all the crap he pulled.

Yeah I'm getting off topic of this post, what i really wanted to ask was, Ian or Jared?
who would you pick and why?
it can be for a relationship, or friendship, or something purely phsical *coughcoughIancoughcough* just let us know.

OK, first off, Wanda isn't actually human and she doesn't see things the way humans see them. Second, she's seen and dealt with a lot of other species in her wanderings. After the Claw Beast, how bad can Jared really seem to her?

And last, but not least, wasn't it Jared who held the knife to the doctor's throat to insure he didn't fulfill Wanda's wish to be dead in the dirt by her deceased friend?

As for Jared or Ian, I can't answer that as I'm a guy and wouldn't choose either of them. But I liked Ian better than Jared, as a human being, in this book.

BTW, did anyone else notice the similarity between Alice and Wanda after Wanda got her new body?
