I know we all have them. Fears that don't make sense, but just happen. Or even just fears in general.

I am terrified of cowboy boots. Whether they are being worn by someone or not. If I see them I cringe.. If someone is wearing them I automatically loathe the person, even though I know nothing about them. lol

That's one of mine!

I'm terrified of falling. Not like tripping, but like actual falling from a big distance. Especially down elevators (I don't take them unless it can't be avoided). This fear is completely rational though; it's all because of the Tower of Terror at Disney World. Plunge, stop, ghost, plunge, stop, ghost. It's enough to scare any timid girl of about five.
And yet, I have no problem with heights.

That's about all I'm really afraid of....I mean, yeah, I 'm a little scared of more normal things (being kidnapped and/or dying of some sort of asphyxiation), but they're just secondary and tercerary (or vice versa) to falling.

I have the irrational fear of lobsters...but it's not that bad anymore. I just do not wish to stand near them in the grocery. I have a major fear of lots of things in one space...soo if you've seen the movie Holes..all those holes in that desert *shudders*.
I'm afraid of things crawling on me...bugs especially. A little bit of heights, but I can control it..just kind of freak out..go really high places anyway. A weird fear of large spaces..if I feel like the room is getting bigger then I freak and I can always tell when someone is not sitting close enough, or their is nothing close enough to me..andwhen the door is open whe I sleep.

And my major fear is ...something I don't wish to think about and when I do I cry. Has to do with my family.

I have a tad bit of an irrational fear myself.
I am afraid of falling. Not because of the fact of looking klutzy or being embarrassed by the scene, but by the fact that I may hit my head on something or even land on my head too hard. I dunno, I think it could be my death if you've seen my every-day life of falling with my head aiming for a counter top or a solid concrete wall!

My irrational fear...is weird. I am afraid that I will drop a cement block on my foot. I dropped a sawhorse on my foot...but all is well! But I do not have a fear of falling a great distance, SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN! I am never going in the ocean again after Jaws and watching some freaky crap on the Discovery Channel. NEVER EVER going back in the ocean!

Actually I should have that same fear, of swimming in the ocean or of any large body of water, because I almost drowned...three times, but oddly enough, I guess I never learn my lesson and fear large bodies of water(including in the ocean and twice in pools). lol...

This is totally childish....The Thump-Slide Lady. I can't sleep with any limbs hanging off the side of my bed. I actually tried a few nights ago, but still can't. It's not so much a fear as it's an "Oh, my God, she's going to get me" feeling.

I am the same way, I can't have any limbs over the edge of the bed, and i have to be covered w/at least a sheet (stinks in the summer).

But I have never heard of the Thump-Slide Lady.. is there a story behind it?? *sits cross-legged on the floor waiting for storytime* haha

I'm the same with the covers. They MUST be up to my ears, no matter the temperature. (I was afraid vampires would get me when I was a kid Rolling Eyes )

I can't really remember the whole story, but the version I'm familiar with says that if you sleep with any part of your body hanging over the side of the bed, the Thump-Slide Lady will do some sort of army-crawl with one arm (hence thump-slide) out from under the bed and get you.

I have an irrational fear... and this is going to sounds really stupid.. of cardboard. I don't know why, but I can't stand touching carboard, it freaks me out. So my brother enjoys coming inot my room once all the toilet roll has been used to through the toilet roll tubes at me so I'll scream. I hate it. I also dislike opening Amazon deliveries for the same reason. Makes my skin crawl!

I have an irrational fear of having dry hands. I hate having dry hands - it freaks me out a lot. I have this Aquiam stuff which is sort of like cleanser, and it gets rid of the bacteria from your hands and then I stick on a special hand cream - it's not OCD, trust me, but I hate my hands being dry or dirty. I can put up with dirt - I'm not a girly girl!

I think I have others, I just can't think of them.

Oh - I have to have the same blue/red/black pens. Like a specific brand, a specific size (Fine, Medium etc). I can't use other ones, it just doesn't work. And I hate crinkled paper.

I have an irrational fear of rollercoasters and various bugs. I've never been on a rollercoaster, but just the sight of them makes me too scared to want to try. The various bugs thing-- centipedes, or as we call them in my house, "thousand leggers," bees, spiders, anything creepy-crawly. That is my true irrational fear because I have no idea what brought it on, but I can't even get close enough to kill them, and in most cases, I have to leave the room. Embarassed

Nutcrackers. Absolutely HATE nutcrackers.
There's this garden center that my dad used to drag me to, and every year around Christmas they have this talking reindeer and the line leading up to it is decorated as a winter wonderland. Long story short, I could NEVER go through it. My uncle and cousin used to put them in my bed when I lived with my aunt, and I'd wake up in the morning to it in my face and fall off the bed trying to get away from it.
I'm also afraid of vacuum cleaners. The sound they make creeps me out.

hmm irrational fears, mine is silly. unmoving escalators! it scares me when i walk up on one, i'm afraid that it'll move on me, and i'll fall down. I'll walk up them anyways, but i have to constantly look at my feet while i walk up them. haha

And germs for me as well! ugh, dirt is fine as well, like the outdoors, but germs in public places, not my cup of tea.

I'm like that with escalators as well, come to think of it. An unmoving escalator is just plain freaky - even though there are hundreds of people around you you feel like you are in a horror movie or something and Chucky is waiting at the top. It's just the weirdest sensation!
