Does anyone collect antiques? Glassware, furniture, trinkets, what have you?

I'm going to inherit a ton of stuff, including a bedroom suit made by some great great (great?) something over a hundred years ago, more furniture, a load of jewelery, &c.

What I already have:
- technically, I already have that bedroom suit; I've been using it since I was twelve
- an old chest that belonged to my great-grandmother
- a record player/radio that was my dad's when he was a kid (he was born in '4Cool
- some jewelry and many trinkets
- an old suitcase
- an old Argus camera
- a few old books (I found a dictionary at my grandmother's house that was used in a boy's school in the mid-1800's, but the six hours from Mississippi to Kentucky that it was safely tucked in some box or bag made it impossible to find Sad )
- I have a dress that's from 195...9 I think, but I don't know if that's considered antique

Hm...That's all I can think of right now.

I used to collect coins for a while back in middle school (6th grade lol). My collection isn't huge, but I have some pretty cool pieces in it. I have a three-cent piece from 1852. I didn't even know they came in three-cent denominations, but apparently, they did lol. I've also got a twenty-cent coin from 1853(?) that's worth $300. Aaand I have a nickel that's stamped 60% off the dye, meaning that a little over half the coin is blank metal and the other part is stamped with part of the nickel. The little blank piece slipped when it was stamped.

I've been thinking about getting back into it. I'm trying to hunt down what's called a large cent (before pennies were called pennies) that's from 1792. It's the only denomination coin I don't own lol.

Wow. My dad would be so jealous of you Laughing

Have you looked at pawn shops? That's where my dad gets his old coins, but I don't know if they'd have anything from the 18th century.

I love antiques! My parents both collect lots of things, my dad is a huge military collector, mostly WWI and WWII. My mom collects all kinds of antiques, like depression glass, jadite, hitchcock furniture, and a myriad of other things. pretty much all the furniture/decorations in our house are antiques! lol, i love it all.
