I'm sure everyone has found at least ONE of those bands that just blows you away. You know, the kind that makes you wonder how THAT much talent could end up in ONE band! Share the love man, post 'em here!

one of my favorites is a band called Primus. They got kinda big in the 90's and they have CRAZY rhythm! It is amazing!

I also think Sublime is pretty awesome but i'm sure everyone knows about them! haha! (if you don't... thats sad)

ummm....

I don't know....

I will post some later when i can remember them. In the mean time, gimmie some of yall's favorites!

Well, I think The Rasmus is amazing. I mean, they can pull off anything from ska to "death pop." Amazing.

Nickel Creek is wonderful too. Each member could probably play whatever instrument you throw at them, and they all can sing well (maybe not the bassist, though; I've never heard him sing).

i need to look into them!

i forgot Immortal Technique!
they use a lot of ... ummm... mature language... BUT the guy actually has SOMETHING to say. His music MEANS something. He is also a man of great rhythm (like Primus but different style)!

One band always comes to mind... You have to see this concert live to appreciate how awesomely this band plays...

The Fall of Troy

There are way too many good bands in the world though, it's hard to list some.... I could go through my list for hours.

Erm... Dir en Grey is pretty amazing for Jrock
and X-Japan...
Hyde/L'arc en Ciel
Merry...
Miyavi...
Shidou...

Talented Jpop
Utada Hikaru
Aya
Mika Nakashima

French/Italian
Zazie
Ilaria Graziano

Sorry focus... American....

Coheed and Cambria
The Motion City Soundtrack
Alexisonfire
Of coure the Beatles, whoever mentioned them. : DDDD
Mamas and the Papas
Cream
Coldplay
Radiohead
MUSE

And then there's tons of trip-hop

Frou Frou/Imogen heap is legend in that department
Martina Topley-bird
Constaza
Jem
Persophone's Bees

Do composers count...?

Amazing composers... My favs........

Yoko Kanno
Clint Mansell
Nobuo Uematsu
Akira Yamaoka
Yoshiki

I knew if I tried to mention some I'd go off the deep end. There's just TOO much good music in the world that it outweighs the people who don't write impressive music. And then even if they aren't writing their own music SOMEONE is. And they are still equally as impressive... Hence I have a thing for composers.

Try out Yoko Kanno's variety. That's my suggestion. She's one of my top favs. Her stuff may be listed under sub-names or people she worked with, such as: Illaria Graziano, Steve Conte, Gabriela Robin, The Seatbelts. Maaya Sakamoto, etc. etc.

I will always bow down to Rush. They are freaking CRAZY! The drummer is so insane!! His work is so complex!! Also, the lyrics are amazing and they are done by the other two band members Alex Lifeson & Geddy Lee.

Oooooooh, Uematsu is a great composer! I went to see Play! A Video Game Symphony and I sat right beside him! It was exciting! haha. Clint Mansell is also the bomb - The Fountain soundtrack blows me away.

My top 5 bands are:

- mewithoutYou
- Sigur Ros
- Every Time I Die
- Thrice
- Josh Ritter

Oh Nessa....I LOVE the fact that you also appreciate Every Time I Die and mewithoutYou. I've seen the, both in concert, mewithoutYou twice, and they were both beyond fantastic.

Hahaha. I've seen them three times...the last was at Cornerstone Festival last summer...and I hung out with him and ate garbage food...sigh.
