I think and hope that we will finally be introduced to the Denali clan and Tanya in BD. But for Bella's sake I hope it's nothing too awful, and that no dark secrets are revealed or whatever concerning Edward and Tanya's history.
I'm also curious to see what the Denali clan's relationship is like with the rest of the Cullens.
One thing I am confused on: Is Tanya techincally a succubus, or did she just start the myth of the succubus?

OME! I was about to open this topic!
I think it is about time we were introduced to the Denali's, They were spoken of often enough. The Cullens and Denalis seem to have forged an understanding of sorts and I am curious as to what that pertains.
Hm.. I've always thought of Tanya as a succubus but I can't be sure. _________________

I would look up the succubus thing but all my books are at school. I forget if it was Eclipse or Twilight that that was brought up.
I was always under the impression she just started the myth because of her history of taking advantage of human men.
Do you think the Denali and Cullen ties aren't as strong now that Laurent is gone and they want to destroy the werewolves? I'm sensing a conflict on the way with that.

I don't have my books with me either. I'm at my sister's house and my books are at my place. Hm...
I think that somehow, there was always a little bit of conflict with the Denalis and Cullens. I don't know, but I always thought that they weren't as good friends as they seemed and that the Denalis have long wanted to be rid of the Cullens and are just looking for an excuse to fight them. _________________

I think you're right. I don't believe Stephenie would talk about the Denali clan so much only to forget about them later.
Tanya and her sisters (Irina and Kate) were the inspiration for the succubus myths; they aren't actually succubus, they ARE vampires. _________________ ~Molly~
I'm curious to see what the rest of the Cullens individual relationships are with Tanya's family. They can't all get along just peachy, that wouldn't be very interesting to read about. Especially now since Tanya's family wants the pack destroyed, and the Cullens refuse to, because Bella was kind of responsible for Laurent getting killed.

Hm.. Maybe Tanya still likes Edward and isn't just mad because of Laurent. *dun dun dunnnn* _________________
The Denali coven keeps getting cut out of the story. For the record, they are Tanya, Kate (Katrina) and Irina–originally Slavic, and they think of themselves as sisters, though they are not biologically so. They are all almost a thousand years old. It was just the three of them for many centuries, and then Carmen and Eleazar joined them, attracted by their peaceful lifestyle. Tanya, Kate, and Irina had an interesting path that led them to "vegetarianism": they are the originals behind the myths of the succubus. Their fondness for human men eventually led them to feel remorse for their victims, and they slowly trained themselves to resist human blood. They still like men, though. Kate and Eleazar are "talented" like Edward and Alice, but I’m not saying more than that. (Tanya gets a brief cameo in my Twilight-from-Edward’s-perspective). Eleazar is a man. He and Carmen (his true love) are both Spanish, only three to four hundred years old, and they joined the succubus sisters later on. Eleazar has quite a history, which, right now, only shows up in Forever Dawn.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, MORGAN! I really wanted to know more about them and am now very convinced that they will lead a big role in BD. _________________
No problem! I'm excited I stumbled upon it too! Because I didn't really read it carefully the first time I came across it. I was all pffft no Edward, moving on. But now I think it could be really important, and give us some clues.
I have a theory about the Denali clan in Breaking Dawn. You've already mentioned the fact that Irina wasn't happy that the wolves killed Laurent. I think that Irina will decide to get revenge for Laurent's death, and will come to make war with the wolves, the rest of the clan with her.
I think that, seeing as Edward owes Jacob for keeping Bella alive while he was off playing silly buggers, the Cullens might join forces with the wolves against the Denali coven. It would also make them even for when the wolves joined the Cullens against the newborns. Plus Bella wouldn't want to see Jacob get hurt, so would ask Eward to help.
That's my theory anyway. I could be wrong, but I think something will happen. I don't think SM would have put the fact that Irina wanted revenge in Eclipse if nothing would come of it.
