The first time reading New moon, i loathed jacob, i think mostly because I missed Edward too much. And everytime i would read NM, i would skp to when he returned, but this time i forced myself to re-read the whole thing.
And i actually really like Jacob alot. He's a great character, and it seems like he's such a sweetheart, that got his heart broken when bella leaves. Though he is young and naive at times, I actually think if Edward never did return (we know he would eventually), she could be somewhat happy with Jacob. (and i can admit, that a part of me, very little, tiny part, didn't want bella to leave to italy)
Any one have this same experience, or not? _________________

Yeah, I really disliked Jacob the first time. When I read it again, he became my favourite character.
Everyone should read NM in its entirety twice because the first time everyone just wants Edward back. And I hate, now that EC is out, that no one wants to read NM twice before they start on EC. It just makes them hate Jacob more.... _________________
i agree with pretty much all you guys said.
i just finished reading new moon for the second time today and i'm impressed by how much i actually like pre-wolf jake....but once he finds out he's a werewolf he gets all angry and blah. before though...he's pretty cute _________________ oh Cedric....you're hotter when you're Edward Cullen!
Rob, you can stand under my umbrella - also when it's not even f*cking raining

i know, pre-wolf so cute. It was cute how, i there was a part where she hi-five's him and he intertwines his fingers with hers, i thought that was adorable. Tho of course bella didn't think anything of it.
NM Makes me sympathize with jacob alot tho, even after his wolf phase, he's absolutely in love in bella tho, there's nothing he can do about edward. Even though in his wolf-phase he is sometimes immature, but i can understand where he's coming from. _________________

After reading New Moon, I fell in love with Jacob. I still cared about Edward, but I fell into a deep trance when reading the parts with Jacob in it. He's just so sweet, understanding, warm and full of happiness. I like that in a guy. heehee. And I especially like fictional guys like that who are not only human. _________________
I like him, but I don't think it counts because I read the books in wrong order. (twilight - eclipse - new moon) so I was left with a good and sweet guy in the end.
I really like Jacob and Edward. I know it sounds really cheesy, but I love every character that makes twilight. I just love them in different ways.

Twilight saga - as if I seriously needed an other addiction
I have loved Jacob ever since he first appeared in Twilight, and sometimes, I like him even more as a wolf just because he's physically bigger and more imposing, and is more able to protect and take care of Bella, even if he doesn't have the experience necessary. And although he's immature, it's not hard to remember that it's because he's only 16. And we never saw Bella at 16. She probably made some bad choices and said some wrong things too.
I think I like him because he reminds me of some guys I knew when I was that age. Although in my mind he's way hotter than any guys I knew when I was that age _________________ A root is a flower that disdains fame.

well i think that jacob is the kind of guy every girl gets. the one to love you back and hes a genuine guy that is warm and makes you feel safe.
but edward is the guy every girl WANTS and never gets. he is the perfect guy.
so jacob is sorta a reality check for bella because if edward were to have died in 1901 then jacob would have been the one for her. so even though i dont like jacob more then edward i think he is a necessary reality check for bella

Well...
I like Jacob now. I knew a few things about the series beforehand. As I mentioned elsewhere, I found out about Twilight from facebook Pieces of Flair - I was so confused - "wtf is edward?" haha, so I also stumbled across some Team Edward/Team Jacob type stuff and the "I survived 300+ pages without Edward stuff". So I was more prepared than others. But I still wasn't happy about it. I was freaking out the whole time. And I did sort of rush through (but I did with all of them - each took like 6 hours), but I was just so frustrated at the whole concept. I didn't blame Jacob in NM though.
HOWEVER, in Eclipse when Edward's back and Bella has made herself clear, I am so aggravated by all the Jacob/Bella stuff. And a lot of it is her fault. My mom and I were discussing today and we decided it's not that we don't like Jacob, but we don't like how Bella was around him. She was leading him on, and yea we sort of get an explanation in BD, which made me feel better, but still... she knew how he felt, and since she wasn't leaving Edward, it was just annoying. Then he got all pushy about the whole thing.
I have an on/off thing with Jacob. I thought he was hilarious in BD, a jerk in EC, and I should read NM again to see what I think now that the whole thing's wrapped up. I don't harbor any ill will against him from New Moon, I'm more frustrated with Stephenie for making it so long. I don't mind that it happened, but it took too long for me. _________________ Alice: “I’ll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors.”
