I'd love to see

“And all those innocent humans in Seattle,” Esme murmured.<br>
“It’s not right to let them die this way.” “I know,” Carlisle sighed.

I'd love to see

I'd love to see alone time between Esme and the other characters in the book. I mean, all we've gotten so far is her motherly love. I know it's her strongest character trait, but I'd love to see how she acts when she's alone with Carlisle, or Rosalie for that matter. I want to see more than MOM, I want to see ESME.

I know! I feel like her character hasn't been given time to show off some of her personality. We all know she is loving and maternal, but I'd love for her to play a much bigger role wherein we can see what it means to be loved and cared for by Esme.

I hope that we'll see a lot more of her in Midnight Sun, but I think it would be interesting to have a book from her point of view. I know it wouldn't happen because other characters are more central.

Esme really is like a mom in the books...She's there and everyone loves her, but she never gets her due, you know?

I love Esme! I really wish that SM wrote more about her. I think that she would be interesting. Like I really want to know her position on everything. Because it seems like she is putting up a frint and is always really nice. I wonder if she has an evil dark side. And I want to learn more about her relationship wtih Carlisle. I think that they are so connected wtih each other that I wish my bf and I were like that...all the time.

Esme with an evil dark side!?!??! HAAHAH!! Though Rosalie said that she was the only one in the family to never have tasted human blood. That means Emse's slipped. I'd love to hear that story and her thoughts on it.

What if Esme got revenge on her husband like Rosalie did? Or maybe she walked around with Edward for a little while to make sure he was ok and trying to understand him more.

I think she would go after her husband though. He deserves it.

That could have been what Rosalie was talking about.

I always wondered about that. What's her "rebellious" story? Rosalie did it for revenge. Edward did it for his God complex he seemingly developed toward humans. Jasper... well, had the different upbringing. Emmett's story is one I'd like to hear.

I'm sure everyone of the characters has had their story. But Esme's is certainly the most mysterious. Everyone has told their tale. Hers is only briefly told in Twilight during the baseball game.

Isn't there more to Esme than her overwhelming maternal desire?

I really love where this conversation is going. I definitely agree that Esme is the most mysterious. We all know she is very homely, open, and maternal but she doesn't seem to talk much about herself... she told us the gist of her story but not enough for us to feel like we know her or have an idea of how she feels.

Homely? Why did you say homely? I was taught that men someone wasn't so attractive. Ie: They are have the 'stay at home' face.

Homely in the context that she likes to have her family about (the concept of being at home)

She seems like a quiet, selfless person, which is probably why she doesn't talk much about herself. She is quite mysterious. (As is the actress who plays her in the movie, I don't think I've seen any pictures of her on set minus the press photos.)

I think she has already told the majority of her story, or there is some twist that hasn't been revealed yet.
