Have you found a Jacob or an Edward?

Can’t seem to find the perfect man? Why doesn’t she notice you? In need of post-break up counseling? Or are you just confused by the opposite sex? Have you now unrealistic expectations for men, ladies? Post rants and seemingly unanswered questions here. Married individuals feel free to advise the young and inexperienced. (Nothing explicit)

God, the worst part for me is that I didn't have an Edward and a Jacob, I had 2 Edwards!!! And it was HARD choosing between the two. But in the end I made the right choice, because now I'm happily married and expecting my first child, and the unchosen Edward is a druggie who works at the Beer Store. (Not saying that its a bad thing, I just think if I had chosen him I wouldn't have the life I wanted, which is the life I currently have)

Awww...the stories are sweet.

Let's see here. I have an Edward and Jacob in my life. Seriously. As soon as reading New Moon I was like "Wow! Weird!!"

So I've been dating my boyfriend for almost three years now. We are high school sweethearts. Haha. It's weird to call David my boyfriend because he is so much more than that, you know? Just like how Bella has a hard time describing Edward because he is much more than a boyfriend. Same with me. We will eventually get married but we're not ready for that yet. We're both still in school and don't have that great of an income. Haha. He is the most amazing guy I have ever met! We are so alike it's weird!! I'm the type of girl that doesn't party or drink. I have fun by reading, playing board games or video games (yes, I know), and just staying at home watching movies. He is exactly the same way yet we still have the spunk. We aren't boring. At least I don't think so and I may be a little biased. Haha. But yeah, so he's my perfect Edward. :D

So Jacob. Well, I met my friend a couple of years ago. I think it's been four or five. And let me just say...on of the sweetest guys ever but girls overlook him! He has always, always been with me through past break-ups and hard times in my life. I know that if things were different (like where he lives and where I live) we would have gotten together but David came into my life and that was it. Ha. The difference with Jacob is that my friend respects David and doesn't try to break us up or anything. My friend is truly happy that I've found David and I love him for that. He is one of the best friends I have ever known and I know we will continue to be. We do joke around like brother and sister which is kind of funny because we give each other so much crap!! Haha.

So there's my little Edward/Jacob story. haha. Hope I didn't bore anyone.

I don't have an Edward or a Jacob in my life and none of my ex's even come close to either of those two boys. I've been single the last 2 and a half years or so.. it's easier most of the time. I don't date either just because i've had some shitty times in the past with b/f's and i don't really want to let the kind of guys in that i did in the past so i just stay away from everything all together. It helps that my friends are single as well, i usually invest all my time in my friendships, family and my fandoms and work and stuff I like to do. I enjoy not having to ask someone permission to go hang out with other people for a night, i enjoy not having to deal with dumb shit either. Sometimes it gets lonely because, like it was mentioned before (i think in another thread) sometimes it's nice to feel validated as an attractive person and when you dont pay any attention to others, they don't pay any attention to you either so... yeah, you're never validated. I guess that puts me where i am.

maybe one day my Edward with show up... maybe not... but i hope so.

anyways, that was way longer than it ever should have been.

that was just depressing. lol. i have to go get a drink and cry by myself while reading Twilight now. (j/k!)

You do that. I'll make the chocolate brownies and bring a copy of Jerry Maguire. Apparently ET calls it the number one date movie of all time haha.

You ladies seem to be so very happy, those of you who have found love. Hold onto it. It's such a precious thing and hurts so much when its taken from you. Live each day of your romance in its individual moments. If you live life like that, in the moment, you'll never regret it.

Hahaha, sounds good to me! I will supply the cookie dough and tubs of ice cream!

I also second your advice, it is very good...I'm still searching for my Edward but when I do, I will cherish the relationship. Just wish I didn't have to wait so long...

I've found my Edward, and by Edward I mean a really fantastic, super gorgeous, really intense guy.

Unfortunately, we are friends, and he doesn't see me in a romantic light at all. But yet he still comes over and cuddles with me, and he lets me play with his hair and beard.. and it just kills me to know he doesn't think of it the same way I do

Well, that was more depressing than I thought it would be, haha

You ladies are so very helpful to those who are still looking, or waiting, on their "Edwards". All I have to say about looking for an Edward is that even before reading these books, I wanted a gentleman. Now, I just have a bit more incentive.

Reminds me of something else I posted in another thread... About making an "Edward Cullen Guide To Gentlemanly Behavior (Or Ways To Make Your Bella Happy)".
