Now, I don't know if any of this has been discussed elsewhere on TA or on TT, but I made this discovery when reading Twilight for the 2nd time (which feels like ages ago now, lol). Everyone will probably read this and be like "...duh." but I think it is neat picking this kind of stuff out of books.
I may be reading too much into it, but I wanted to see if anyone else thought this was interesting as well. This section is on pg. 211, during one of the first times Bella sits with Edward at lunch:
"Don't you see? That's what proves me right. I care the most, because if I can do it" - he shook his head, seeming to struggle with the thought - "if leaving is the right thing to do, then I'll hurt myself to keep from hurting you, to keep you safe"
(Edward)
...
"'No one has tried to do away with me today,' I reminded him, grateful for the lighter subject. I didn't want him to talk about goodbyes anymore. If I had to, I supposed I could purposefully put myself in danger to keep him close....I banished that thought before his quick eyes read it on my face. That idea would definitely get me into trouble."
(Bella)
Now, that pretty much looks like most of the plot of New Moon to me right there, lol. Edward leaving to protect Bella, hurting himself in the process. Bella, talking about putting herself in danger to keep on hearing his voice, i.e. motorcyles, extreme sports. And "that idea would definitely get me into trouble." We all know what happened after Bella went cliff diving: Bella almost drowning, Alice seeing it and showing up, Edward and the Volturi...
I just thought that it was interesting that the basic idea for New Moon is all right there. You can pick up what I'm putting down or rip it apart, lol. But when I read Twilight for the second time after reading New Moon and Eclipse...that page gave me chills and made my jaw drop...because you don't think about that at ALL at the time you are reading Twilight because you are all "OME, I LOVE YOU!!!" the entire time...or at least I was, lol. Plus, if that is your first read through, you have no idea what's in store in the next 2 books.
What are some other interesting foreshadowing parts for everyone else, in Twilight or any of the books? _________________ "If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I'm not ashamed of it."

Oh my gosh...I never saw that. I usually see things like that when I re-read books, especially if I read them two more time. I mean, I think I looked at it and thought that it was like New Moon, but never put two and two together. Crazy.

You're a genius!!!!
Aww, thanks, you are too nice . I wouldn't call myself a genius though, lol.
But isn't that so neat? I mean, it could just be coincidence...but it describes what happens in New Moon almost perfectly. After I read that and it dawned on me, the first thing I said was "Stephenie Meyer, you are just too amazing," and then kept on reading to see if I could pick up anything else like that part.
Stephenie Meyer = epitome of awesome. _________________ "If I could dream at all, it would be about you. And I'm not ashamed of it."

I talked about that in one of the forums somewhere! LOL. Awesome...
So we were discussing this and started to wonder... What if the plot of BD has been given away (at least in hints anyways) in Eclipse already? _________________

I would feel ridiculous if most of the clues have been in print all along. But it would also be kind of neat for that to happen, just because it would show that SM's writing skill is superior, as we already know.

Yeah, true!
See, this is why I am not sure about Bella becoming vampire. Remember in book two, the beginning. When Bella thought that she was talking to her Grandmother and it was actually just herself looking in a mirror. That is why I still don't know if she will become a vampire... _________________ "In this world love has no color, yet how deeply my body is stained by yours." J. Craqqette

That was a major fear that she had. We all knew it. That would have been her future because that was Edward's plan all along....that's the reason why New Moon happened. Edward needed to see what it would be like without her and also for her to make her choice period.
I don't think that was a foreshadow, because it was too much of her fear and something that would have happened if it were not for New Moon anyway.

O agree. I don't see it as foreshadowing. It's like one of Alice's hazy visions, a possible future but not set in stone. It's just what could have happened if Edward hadn't left. _________________ ~Molly~
I really love those foreshadowings..I also noticed those yu mentioned and also another one..I don't know the page because I don't own the English book, but before Bella goes to school the first time she says something like 'nobody will eat me' or something.. That made me smile..I found it kind of cute

it's Bite me...not eat me.. lol. I noticed that too, highlighted it in my book because I knew it was a foreshadow and ironic. It was great.
This is a pretty obvious one, and one Stephenie has discussed herself already, but Bella's nightmare in Twilight (C7, p112 in UK edition), where she sees Jake as a werewolf. I like how she had no intention of writing a sequel to Twilight, yet had already laid the foundations for them without realising. Sometimes kismet happens _________________
