They didn't even know what emo was back in the 1900s!!
i think people still don't really knwo what emo is, lol
like, what's the definiton exactly? what criteria do you have to meet to be considered emo?
i mean, of course there's the clothing style and all the eyeliner and the hair stuff...but i know plenty of emo-looking people who are happy and bouncy so that doesn't really fit...
Emo is short for emotional. When I hear it, I think of teens (sporting that signature emo look, of course) who whine all the time about how their life stinks, how everyone hates them, and cry over their girlfriends/boyfriends. Sometimes they even injure themselves to get attention.
The other emo-looking people, who aren't all fakely depressed, are what I consider "scene." They're all, "&& I'm raddddd, you're raddddd, let's hug" and "rawr" and what not. _________________
i think the reason why they see Edward as 'emo' is because he usually 'kept to himself' when Bella hasn't entered his life yet. but personally, i don't think he ever dresses and 'acts' like one. _________________
lol i can't see my idea of edward wearing eyeliner:)
Lol me either.
Don't you mean guyliner?
I don't see him as emo at all. He loves life after Bella entered it and as mentioned previously; he's not selfish at all. But then again there's nothing wrong about being emo, but Edward just isn't. _________________ Team Switzerland!

When I think *emo* - I think of someone being depressed for the sake of being depressed - because it's cool - dramatizing how awful life is, etc., and I don't even know if it's possible for character to be emo since their lives are full of dramatic situations - not overblowing real life. Edward has been 17 for what - 90 years now? Always around teens in love, never being in love himself, not thinking he's got a soul, convinced he's an awful monster - with all that going on - of course he's depressed, but it's real, you know? I sort of think of emo as someone exploiting depression for attention and that's not him.
And yea, besides, he's too clean-cut for eyeliner _________________ Alice: “I’ll play you for it. Rock, paper, scissors.”

Alice: “I do. Excellent.”
