I am a theater/broadway freak and was wondering if there are any others out there.

What are your favorite shows and why?
What do you love about the theater?

My favorite shows are Wicked, Rent, Hairspray, Phantom of the Opera, Beauty and the Beast, and Chicago.

I love the theater because of the thrill of performing in front of the audience and the teamwork and comradery you learn while being in the theater.

Kat

I do love theatre. I love acting it it and seeing it but I'm into the obscure stuff. I like the really popular shows but they're not my favorite.

My favorite show is Into the Woods. The lyrics are fantastic... the messages awesome and it's such a difficult show to perform that I admire everyone who does it well.

I'm a theater actress too! Smile I'm working on becoming a professional theater/film actress.

Into the Woods is another show I love, it's so quirky and really funny.

Loooove broadway. I've seen Phantom & Beauty and the Beast each three times; I'd go again for Phantom- it's my favorite. Hmm I also like Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, and a ton others.

I love the theatre! Always have always will. My fave musical ever is Guys & Dolls:

Nicely, it is too bad that a smart businessman like Nathan had to go and marry his own fiancee!
I've always wanted to be Adelaide, or Nathan. But I can't act!

I still enjoy it though. I love going to the ballet as well, and the opera!

I haven't ever had the privilege of watching an actual show (a negative of small towns..) but I've performed in my school plays.

I played flute in the pit for "Anything Goes"
I was a shark girl and had a line (!!!) in "West Side Story"
I was an island girl in "South Pacific"
I was also a villager, and had TWO lines, and a solo for "Brigadoon"
Haha

My favorite shows, based on music, would have to be Phantom of the Opera and Rent.

Basically, I'm really into musicals.

I love everything about the theatre. Watching and acting are two impossibly amazing experiences.

I must say, though, that I haven't watched as many as I'd like, however.

I've only watched Wicked, Miss Saigon, Boy from Oz and Rent.

I've acted in The Wiz and Once on This Island.

Wicked was AMAZING. It was with the entire original cast and Idina Menzel's voice is like nothing on this planet. Kristin Chenoweth was adorable, and although her voice has never been my type, the notes that girl can reach?!! Boy from Oz had Hugh Jackman in it (I was fanning myself the entire time) and he impressed me but I wasn't so fond of the script. Rent and Miss Saigon just speak for themselves. I don't even have to say anything anymore. You just know they're awesome.

I love theatre! My first two years of high school I was a music theatre major in an arts magnet. With that, I've done random songs from a bunch of shows like Work, You're a good man Charlie Brown, and Beauty and the Beast. I've also been apart of the chorus for Les Miserables and Children of Eden. When I was little, I played Emma Nems in Orphans in Candyland.

The only shows I've had the pleasure of actually seeing are Rent, Wicked, Chicago, and Annie. I kinda fail at getting out there and seeing them. Sad

Lately, I've been slacking in my theatre goings. I really need to look into doing community theatre or something.

I went to the big theatre on Saturday night - His Majesty's Theatre. It's absolutely awesome!

We didn't see opera/ballet/musical theatre - it was actually The CHaser's War on Terror Vareity Show, which was excellent anyway. But I love the Maj - it's so beautiful.

It actually reminded me of The Phantom of the Opera, with the box seats. I was just waiting for the Phantom to say..." I thought I left instructions that Box One was to be left empty..."

I only saw up to now: Rebecca, 3 Musketiere, Rocky Horror Picture Show , We will rock you, Cabaret and some little musicals, but I hope to see many more in the future!!

I´d also love to visit the broadway one day but for that I have to travel to america *lol*

You just named all my favorites! Smile
Excellent taste, you have.

Theater allows me to escape my life, my world, and envelop myself into an entirely different reality. Portraying people I'll never be is fun, considering most of whom are entirely opposite of my personality. I love it.
